My favorite Chickadee feature is their distinct black markings that make them look like they're scowling.... A great gift for birders & outdoor enthusiasts! Chickadees are a round, small yet sturdy bird with a beautiful song- sure to make anyone smile.

DESIGN DETAILING: Each chickadee is made by piecing & sewing 4 colors of wool together, that best represent the birds understated yet identifying coloring. Each bird design also receives additional stitching & pattern work to provide careful detailed touches. Every perch is cut out by hand & will vary in color, placement & size. I add additional stitching to provide more life like bark texture as well.

Every potholder & ovenmitt are handmade from recycled wool sweaters & a true one of a kind! Each potholder is sewn & intended for use. Therefore they are sewn to be extra durable, double stitched and 4 layers thick. They have also been thoroughly felted so they will maintain their detailing when washed cold & air dried flat.

POTHOLDER OPTION: 8"x8" Handmade from RECYCLED wool sweaters, felted thoroughly for durability. Each potholder is 4 layers thick for high heat resistance.

OVENMITT OPTION: Every ovenmitt is also four layers thick, cut out by hand & sewn by me personally,  I sew all of my ovenmitts as a "pinch grip" ovenmitt style.  Although more complex to make, a "pinch grip" mitt allows you easily use it on either hand. Additionally, I sew every ovenmitt's design & handle loops congruently, so unlike the typical ovenmitt - a Fat Tomato Designs piece is NOT upside down when hung up in your kitchen!

COLORS:
BACKGROUND: Unless otherwise requested- these oven mitts & potholders come on the colors listed below (shades varies based on sweaters available). However, if you don't see the background color you were hoping for, please contact me- I'm sure we can work something out!

TREE: The color & style of tree will vary unless a custom request is made. Examples of both a brown & a “birch” perching tree or branch are shown. Each piece is a one of a kind, as they are made by hand & from the colors & sweaters available, making them each an original.

CARE DIRECTIONS: Wash cold- air dry flat.
